Are you comparing a LCD to a CRT? uhh.. you really cant do that.
LCDs have a "moiring" or "screen door" effect that is common in LCDs. Dells monitors actually look quite good, even when comparted to supposedly superior and much more expensive Apple LCDs.
What you are seeing is normal. It takes some people time to get used to it. If there is another company you prefer then go for it. Both my A02 2007wfp's look great.
Of course I'm comparing. 1) it's prev. gen. tech so it obviously is good to compare to know if we've actually made any progress and 2) it illustrates that camera is not the fault of that.
What I see is not what I see on all other tft's I've observed when trying to find the same effect. They all looked better.
I'm wondering if it makes any difference that I've seen mostly 17" or 19" 4:3 tft's? I've seen one ws 19" and one 20" - before I got my own and noticed this annoying water-effect - and what it comes to this, I didn't see anything wrong with them. However, this causes me to wonder if I have a defective monitor and other 2007wpf's look better?
I'm certain that I won't be used to this effect, I's too eye-striking. I've used this 1½ weeks and if something, it looks worse than at the day one.
Ps. is it normal that on the side borders there's about 2.5mm black are on all of them? :F
