Yes mine looks a bit like that. More on the right than on the left. Infact if I look at the left hand vertical edge I can see the metal evenly all the way up.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, if you screen is OK you will make yourself crazy looking for every little fault in the case. Infact if you hadn't pointed this out to me I would never have found the minor warping of the bottom frame bezel.
Bottom line is this, these days with cheaper and cheaper electronic goods we are never going to get back to the quality of equipment from even 10 years ago. Technology is changing so fast that the way of our parents who had a TV and washing machine for 20 years is long gone.
I am just glad these days if something I buy last longer than 12 months before I have to send it back for repairs. One of the reasons I now always get extended warranties.
thanks for the replies. would be interesting to get a comment from a Dell moderator - last time i tried to explain what's wrong to Dell over the phone, the tech asked me to try changing settings using the on-screen menu... hmmmn, i'm sure i saw the "correct manufacturing errors" option somewhere... :p
gonna try Dell again, will let you know the results...

That is unusual. Let's replace it.
