I have the same problem with my Dimension 9100 w/ ATI Radeon X600SE. Dell sent someone to replace the video card this morning, but as expected this didn't help.
The 2405FPW works fine with VGA, but with DVI-D (where 1920x1200x60Hz is technically out-of-spec) it is unstable. I have used the Dell drivers and the ATI Catalyst 5.8 and 5.9 drivers, but nothing has helped.
I know from a coworker who has this flat panel that it is touchy - the drivers must "steal" some of the vertical blanking interval for pixels. Dell shouldn't sell combinations of flat panel / video card that don't work, but at least the tech that came this morning had no clue about any of this. You would think Dell would test things first...
