Well in short you're basically asking is there a fix on the way.
Officially there is not. Read a couple of the other threads (it's everywhere so won't be hard to find) which talk about it. Basically "there is no A03 planned".
i tested all these gradient photos and programs on 244t (uses same panel) and they were all 100% perfect, not a hint of banding anywhere and just perfectly fade to black just before the very end of the gradients.
This is a 2407 A02, firmware V1B15(flashed) panel LTM240L2, through a VGA Connection. DVI is much worse. Im sending this thing back, unless there is an A03 announcement in the next week. Ill buy a 244t or wait for the Benq 24inch
Have a look. Does Dell think this is acceptable?
I sent mine back for a refund because of the banding, no contrast control and no HDCP compliance for HD video...
I boght a Samsung 244T. Same panel just better electronics....no banding, seperate controls and HDCP...it was $100 more.
Dell messed up on this one...too bad, but we are all allowed an error once in awhile....except the Product Manager and Design Engineer at Dell in this case :)
Well, seems like I'm out of options, since in Austria I am only entitled for refund up to 7 working days after purchase. Bleh.
I guess I can live with the banding issues for now, I'm just angry to spend so much money on a product/revision that shouldn't have passed any QA tests. I still hope they will find a way to completely bypass this image processor, since VGA works without problems I don't think the actual hardware is involved.
I just wanted to add my 2 cents in and say that I just bought the A02 version, and definitely have the vertical banding issue as well. I would appreciate a response from Dell as to the vertical banding issue.
I find that Dells response , or lack there of , pertaining to the unresolved issues the A02 are so hard to believe. How Dell can keep doing this to their loyal customers is beyond comprehension. The fact that this is still an on going problem that still isn't being addressed properly after 2 revisions is less than satisfactory, to say the least.
There better be an A03 revision in the very short term that corrects all these ongoing problems. If not, your going to have a great deal of A02s sent back to you in the coming weeks. You can be assured that most of us can , and will, spend our $$$ on another product that not only works properly, but promises to deliver what it says it offers.
Please correct these problems, for the sake of all of us.

There are no plans for an A03.
