Hi, I from Sing too. Better return the lcd and ask for a full refund. I got my 2007wfp yesterday and same banding problem, totally unacceptable for a cad modelling user like me. Seems that all dell Lcd is having the same problems.
I not sure abt people around the world how they get around this problem and wha applications, they are using. I do broadcast graphic here and everytime I create gradient tone here, it alwalys mislead by my screen that my application have switch to low resolution which my application is able to do so. And even I m used to this lcd screen banding problem, is very hard to tell my composition tone are right at all. It really limit my ability to my work.
I totally disappointed with my new screen and very much regretting throwing away my old lcd without thinking of reserving it.
really sorry to hear that the issue effects your work so badly, ive had experience with dell 07wfp and from that i can say your right, not an option for such detailed and accurate work.

As I wrote earlier, I got my 2007wfp LAST NIGHT and today I am waiting for sales department to confirm my refund. They said mine is version 02, and they refused to say if anyone with V02 still compiant about the banding problem. For me, I tested the Lcd last night and the problem is there alright, horizontal lines on gradients when I export a rendering with gradient to jpeg. It is totally unacceptable for my kind of work, and I'm not sticking around for a replacement after replacement. I bought it because I am using an M20 dell laptop currently and work perfectly for me. So I thought this LCD would be the best thing to buy...without first checking the forum.
Dell customer service is very polite and I believe you should get a full refund too, to save your worry and effort to git it working well. Buy another brand like Viewsonic or LG which came out with 2000:1 contract ration LCD, but test them first in the store.
i thought dell would know how to make a good display by now 1st time right out of the box, 2405fpw was better in alot of ways but it took 6 revisions to get it to that level.
rushed into production for maximum profits, serious quality control issues. blah blah blah
everyday the same old, its like dell release Alpha versions to the public and slowly fix it as more people get annoyed, the 07wfp series could be at BETA level now :O still waiting for a RC1 version :P
joviphang ,
You need a 2407 A03 for no banding in Desktop mode. A02's are just plain BAD:)
Anyone who actually owns a 2407 A03 and previously had an A02 won't dispute this :)
I have 3 2407 A03's, all good in Desktop mode.

I was reporting to get a full refund for my 2007wfp. Now I tested it in Desktop Image Mode and the banding in gradient has almost gone, except for very minor effect. Then I rendered and model and exported in jpeg, the gradient appeared with much less horizontal lines, but nevertheless you can still see the banding.
Should I consider keeping the piece, cos this Lcd is really beautiful, esp the stand design.
