I don't know what you mean when you say "What was your usage prior to it appearing. I can't even get the buttons to respond. At one point I did see a lock and unlock icon that disappeared. Presently I'm just trying to get my buttons working again.
You can try a hard reset. If that does not correct it, time to replace it =
* Turn the monitor off * Disconnect the monitor power cable and all other cables from the rear/bottom/side of the monitor * If a mechanical monitor power button, press the button in for 30 seconds (clears any residual power in the circuits). If not a mechanical power button, just wait for 30 seconds * Reconnect all cabling and retest

Did the lock just appear? What was your usage prior to it appearing? 2407WFP User's Guide pages 39-40 , Menu Lock =
