2407FPW A03 Question
Hi all,
I just received my new 2407FPW A03 (Mexico) this morning via Dell overnight shipping. It looks fantastic thus far, I'm thoroughly impressed by the quality as should be expected in a nearly $800 price tag. I looked it over, and didn't notice any dead pixels as of yet.
What are your reccomendations for giving the monitor the test-run? Should I leave it on for x-amount of hours to test run it? Also, I've heard alot of talk of "banding." What is the exact definition of banding, and how can I best check for banding on my monitor?
Thanks for the feedback in advance,
- Eric

explanation of gradient banding (look at the red-green gradient pics)
To test for banding, use one of the gradient test screens (the Softcare one is the only one that has horizontal and vertical gradients). You should see a smooth, continuous transition without distinct steps, or bands.

i also get it around the icons when i move an Explorer window or something similar... it seems to be really obvious with gray items on white background.

The colors look OK to me, but I'm not sure what exactly to change them to if I were to manualy adjust it. Any advice?

Another excellent link.
Thanks.
Have you others adjusted the RGB and brightness yet? Don't use defaults from factory.
Good Day!
