2407wfp issues

Hi.

I have a dell 2407wfp with A02 firmware.I have not had any problems with this monitor until very recently. I started to notice the screen flicker a week or so ago. This seemed to resolve itself but now the issue has occurred again. Im also having problems with image blur during on-screen movement. I have tried different settings such as changing the image modes (desktop mode seems to be the best) and different colour/brightness settings as suggested in other posts. All of which have not resolved the problem. Basically is my monitor faulty or am I missing some setting?

As suggested by some other posts I tested the screens pixel persistence using monitor test and all of the boxes displayed show image flaws. Jagged edges to the left and the right  with the fastest of the moving boxes being completely blurred. Is this normal due to the response time of the monitor or is this a developed fault?

On a side note, I've tried to install the 2407wfp colour profile and the screen looks terrible using it. Anyone know why?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the reply :)

Using the 2407wfp colour profile the image is still the same. My desktop image still looks blocky in places and the colours are about 300% stronger than normal. If I switch back to the default profile the desktop image looks fine. The motion blur is always apparant in games/video.

Just to point out, I am using the native resolution with full colour depth.

Edit : Currently using DVI but obtain the same result with VGA.

Update : Telephoned Dell tech support 15/5/07 @ 15:00. Replacement monitor with me @ 9:30 am the following day. Have to admit that I am very impressed not only with the service but also with the new monitor. Works a treat :)
