Looks like I'm going to have to RMA it to get the button fixed.  Is there any way to guarantee that they repair MY unit and send it back to me instead of send me a *refurbished* unit?

IsLNdbOi,

Do what you feel is necessary.

I purchased this monitor directly from Dell.  If Dell doesn't give me the same unit back with the power button fixed, I simply do a chargeback with my credit card to get a full refund.

Thanks though.

IsLNdbOi,

That is impossible. The unit will get sent back to the manufacturer and repaired. It then falls into the replacement stock.

IsLNdbOi,

It should be a like for like exchange.

Any monitor must have 6 or more stuck pixels to warrant an exchange. The other issues, just inititate another exchange.

Would it be replaced with a 2407WFP-HC or another rev. A04 standard 2407WFP? I've read on various forums (HardForums, Anandtech, Rage3D, etc.) that the 2407WFP-HC has problems with displaying accurate colors and some have severe ghosting.

Also, what if the "working replacement" has a dead pixel, backlight bleed or ghosting problems?

The one I have now with the stuck power button doesn't have any of those problems.  I use mine now for professional work so those problems I've mentioned above are unacceptable in any amount / level.

IsLNdbOi,

No. You will get a working replacement.

I guess I'll have to try and get in contact with someone higher up to ensure I get the same unit back then.

They don't repair and send back AFAIK. It is better and faster for Dell to send a replacement. If you do opt for it, it will be a refurbished 2407WFP or possibly a Dell 2407WFP HC.

What I recommend you do is get a replacement. They send you the replacement first, if you do not like it, just send it back and keep your current one.

You have 2 options...

1. Send it back to Dell at their expense and hope you get a decent fully functional refurb back. If you are not satisified with the reburb you can always start the neverending exchange game. :smileysad:

2. Repair it yourself (electronics repair shop) at your expense. Mind you any warranty might be void if you do that.

 Yes I know it's unfair.
