2407WFP: Stuck (Can't Move Vertically)

Question

I've been using my Dell 2407WFP without a problem, always enjoying the ease with which I could adjust its height and angle, until at one point I couldn't change the height anymore. The monitor is sort of stuck near the lowest point. There's no sign of what might've gone wrong whatsoever. Any ideas as for how I could fix this? Detaching/reattaching the base, rotating the monitor, applying reasonable force - nothing has helped so far.

So you removed the panel from the stand and then could not raise/lower the stand?

I couldn't move the base, whether with or without the monitor attached.

I managed to solve the problem today. Apparently, the base had got fixated at the lowest point, and some button had to be pressed to release it.
