As far I know, A00 to A01 won't be possible.

Im getting quite fustrated with the problems my 2408WFP is having with Inputlag, Text sharpness + Small Yellow Color and Screen distrotion.

They said a firmware update would come in mid July but nothing yet.

When will it come out?

Refurbished monitors are now shipping with the revised firmware, new ones are coming out of the factory as of last Monday but will take a little while (about two weeks) to get through the distribution system.

Ugh.  I ordered my system (with 2408wfp monitor) yesterday.  I expected the new firmware would be available.  If it takes a couple weeks before the new firmwares to become standard, do I just call and request an exchange?  Will they accept an exchange for the new firmware?

No, dell will not exchange the monitor for just the fimware, however if you can find some other issue with you monitor ie...color gradiation on the left side, dead/bright pixels, etc... then you could exchange and possibly get one with the newer firmware.

Also so far the only way to be sure you have the new firmware is that the sharpness settings are in increments of 10 vice 25 for A00, so check that when you get your system in.

How long do they allow exchanges?  30 days?

Sad when you are torn on whether or not you WANT your monitor to be defective just so you can exchange it.

Don't quote me, but I think in the states you have 30 days for refund, if after that you have "other issues" you should be covered by the 3 year warranty.

Thanks.  I "think" that within the 30 day return policy if you return hardware for an exchange, they must provide NEW hardware in response, correct?  Its only after the 30 days that they will produce refurbished hardware?

Its actually 21 days from the date of invoice, and after that it may be replaced with a refurb.

Jimmy,

What if I ordered mine on the 16th of July, and it was shipped on the 29th of July.  When does the 21 day return period start?  When it's shipped or when it was invoiced on the 16th?

They don't normally invoice it until it ships. PM me your order number(Please don't put your order number or any other personal information in a post) and I can look at the date.

i'd especially point out the part about inherent fault

I'm sorry but there is no inherent fault, we are improving a product because our customers asked us to, not fixing anything.

ones living in the uk then i'd recommend you read up on this :-

Q1. What is an inherent fault?

A fault present at the time of purchase. Examples are:
• an error in design so that a product is manufactured incorrectly
• an error in manufacturing where a faulty component was inserted.
The "fault" may not become apparent immediately but it was there at the time of sale and so the product was not of satisfactory standard.

its plainly obvious that there  were "issues" with this monitor so dell have to deal with it ( well in the uk anyway )
