Dell does not repair monitors. We do not have monitor repair/disassembly documentation nor do we have internal component troubleshooting data. We simply replace the monitor while under warranty. You could take it to a local TV repair center to see if they can diagnose the issue.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. When I turn on the screen it seems to show a colour test screen displaying about 10 different colours. Do you know if this is normal and if there is a way to exit from it? regards
That sounds like "Burn-in Mode" was turned on in the Factory Service Menu? The Factory Service Menu is used by our technicians. This menu is not supported by Dell for customers to use so I cannot discuss how to get into it. Do an internet search for "2709W Factory Service Menu" to get ideas on how to enter this menu.
Hi, I have been searching for "2709W Factory Service Menu" and found that you can enter it by pressing the 2nd, 4th and power button. But when I press these simultaneously nothing happens, and when I turn on the monitor the 10 different colour displays once and then the screen goes blank with the power light on blue. Could you please tell how could I fix it? regards
Hi, thanks for your reply. I tried opening the monitor to see what could be wrong with it, but when I putted it back together the monitor just shows red and yellow or if you look closely red, green and blue lines and this covers the whole screen. But the dell no signal screen and computer input can be seen in the background very faint. Could you please tell me if you know what could be wrong with it? regards

If that button combination does not work, the monitor is defective.

We do not "open" monitors. I have no idea.
