3007WFP cannot display max res in Windows 7

Tried to resurrect one of the previous older posts, but having similar problems to many on here with 3007 WFP

Im using a lenovo l440 laptop intel HD 4000 graphics docked to a thinkpad pro dock.

ive purchased monoprice dual link DVI [2408] and monoprice display port to dvi active adaptor [12783] and still have no luck.

with the adaptor plugged into the docking station, once i boot into windows , i do see the higher resolution options now inside the intel graphics properties, but anything selected higher than 1280 x 800 results in video corruption.

i can not change the refresh rate , as 60 is the only option.

very frustrated as i've wasted hours and money now on cables/adaptors that have not worked.

is there any thing i can do to resolve this?  honestly i would be happy with anything above the 1280 x 800 and dont really need full / max res...

The ten year old 3007WFP can only do two resolutions =
1280x800 (DVI-D Single Link)
2560x1600 (DVI-D Dual Link)
This is an "auto" sensing device. So if it senses Single Link, it uses 1280x800.

What video out ports are on the thinkpad pro dock? If full sized DP out, you could try this:
thinkpad pro dock DP put --> DP to DVI-D converter 2560x1600 --> DVI to DVI cable --> 3007WFP DVI in

whats the difference between the suggested adaptor and the unit that i tried from Monoprice [http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042801&p_id=12783&seq=1&format=2]?

the one i am trying is an Active adaptor.

when i boot with the adaptor connector, i do see the choice for 2560 x 1600 , but once selected the screen goes hay wire and blocks of solid colors is all i can see until the selection switches back by default.

i would prefer not to spend another $100+ on another adaptor that may or may not work....

Sorry, forgot to answer your question, but the think pad pro dock has vga/dvi/display port options for video.

The one I listed was confirmed to work by other users in the past on this monitor. I cannot speak to the monoprice one. Maybe get it exchanged by monoprice and see if the replacement has the same issue. Why not test from the dock DVI port directly to the 3007WFP DVI in? See if you get 2560x1600 with no issues.

i've tried the DVI port on the dock with a Dual DVI D cable and the highest resolution option is 1280 x 800

Which means the dock DVI is Single Link.

so the only suggested solution is to purchase a $100 adapter and try if it works....

Correct. We of course do not test our monitors on their products. You might try asking on this Forum.

according to the lenovo site my dock is DVI-D

support.lenovo.com/.../pd027981

and when i look at the DVI port it clearly has the 24 smaller pin holes.

which means the dock should be dual link and i am using a dual link cable.

this combination should work?

In theory yes. Find a desktop computer that has a video card with a DVI-D DL port and test the monitor on it. If the monitor goes to 2560x1600, it is not defective.
