A problem with screen aspect ratio

Hello I have a Latitude D810 with ATI X600.
I have isntalled vista and it works fine.

I have one problem:
I own a plasma TV with native 1024x768 resolution.
the screen have 16:9 ratio.

when I connect the computer and set the resolution, vista thinks its 4:3
and I cant find any place to change this setting.

thanks,

Meir

1024x768 is a standard 4:3 ratio, so of course Vista will display it as a regular PC resoltuion ratio (1:1 pixel ratio). Your plasma is a widescreen 1024x768 monitor, meaning the pixels aren't 1:1 squares, they are more like 16:9 rectangles. I'm not aware of any way you can change the pixel ratio of a resolution coming from a PC.

Hi thanks for the response,
in XP it worked fine using an ATI utility (I think HYDRA) there was an option to tell the driver its 16:9 and anything worked fine.
In vista ATI tell u to go  to dell's site for the driver (its there) but all of the other ATI software doesnt recognise the driver as ATI.

So I know its theoreticlly possible (It worked in XP) its just a mattar of driver or OS configuration.
Maybe it will come in later versions of the OS or the driver (if dell will make more versions.......)
