Black Border - Why?

Question

Hi - I have a dell E773c Color Monitor 17 inches - worked great at first - then my son pluged in his 15 inch flat screen and now that I want to use my screen I get this black border around everything  - how do I fix this???? Thanks!!!

Are you using dual display or just one? Check that the correct monitor and resolution are selected in Control Panel > Display > Settings. 1024 x 768 at 75 Hz is the optimal setting for the E773c.

Hi - I am only using 1 screen - I have checked that the Monitor selected is E773C and resolution is the 1024x768 -   I have played with the buttons on the front of the monitor to make the border kinda go away but then for instance when I'm on the internet and go to dell.ca the page comes up but there is a 1/2 inch blank on each side - it seems that the internet pages don't fill the whole screen like they used to.  Of course it doesn't help that I'm not that great with this sort of thing!   Thanks for your help!

You adjusted the Horizontal & Vertical Size & Position as described here? Do other windows fill the screen? Is the browser window maximized?
