Blurry P1130
At work I turn my monitor off at night, but leave the computer on. In the morning when I turn the monitor (P1130) on it is blurry. After about 15 minutes the screen scrambles for a split second and I hear a click and the monitor then becomes clear for the rest of the day. I got this monitor in Oct 2001, so it is not that old. It's hard to believe that it is dying after only 1 year 4 months of service, especially since I believe the warranty was for 1 year. Could it be something else? My video card is a NVIDIA 64MB DDR GeForce3 Ti 200 with the current driver update.

Cad_man,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Try setting the monitor to its optimal resolution to see if that will help resolve the issue you are having with the monitor.
For optimal monitor performance while using Microsoft® Windows® operating systems, set the display resolution to 1280 x 1024 pixels by performing the following steps:

If your warranty hasn't expired, Dell has to take it and fix it. If your warranty is expired, you have to fix it at your own cost. That's the basic idea of "warranty" ;)
I had a similar problem with my iiyama monitor. After 2 years of completely flawless operation, it suddenly showed the quirks which you guys mentioned.
It was blurry for a minute or two (all the while making a "hissing" sound), then clicked and was sharp. This monitor had a warranty period of three years, so I called iiyama and they repaired it.

I have exactly the same problem.
My first P1130 gave this problem after two weeks. Dell replaced it.
My second P1130 gave this problem after two years. Dell refuses to replace it: they claim the warranty has expired.
THIS WHILE CURRENTLY, the same monitor is offered with 3 years of guarantee.
I am greatly disappointed at Dell's service. This is obviously a manufacturing flaw and I can't understand why Dell refuses to take responsibility for this.
If Dell doesn't change their mind soon (I have issued a third ticket about this problem), this will be the very last order I've ever made at Dell.
