Breaking Up Ain't Hard To Do

I have a 1702fp monitor and lately the screen has been breaking up with small lines (maybe 1/2 inch long).  Now you may ask, what's the big deal with a 1/2 inch line?  The answer is as the minutes go by, my screen gradually fills up with little lines.  Any ideas on what to do?  I had my changed my settings so that the display was larger because I have a vision problem, and I have put the settings back to the defaul but the lines are still happening. Help.
