Hi Carol Kalar,

Please share the exact system model no. of the computer.

I would suggest drain the residual power:

  • Disconnect the computer from the docking station
  • Disconnect any external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) from the computer
  • Then remove the adapter and the battery (if using a laptop)
  • Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds
  • Reconnect the battery and the adapter
  • Try to restart the computer and check

Please reply if you have any questions.

I apologize for not answering, I have been very busy.  I don't think that my question has been answered, I will contact Dell for more clarification.  Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Carol Kalar,

Thank you for the response. I would be glad to assist. I would need some more information in order to assist you further.

May I know the exact system model no. of the computer and the operating system.
Do you get any error message when you power on or shut the computer down?
Does the system gets stuck on Dell logo when you power on or shut down the computer?
Do you have any external peripherals connected to your computer apart from the docking station?

If you have already contacted technical support, please let me know the status.

Please reply if you have any questions.
