I am having the same problem and am using v1.50.0.0043 with MacOS 12.3.1 and M1 silicon. The proper place would be /var/log or /Library/Logs or even ~/Library/Logs. Please fix this and release a patch version!
I'm also experiencing this and its driving me nuts, so I wrote a cronjob to sniff for these files ever 30m and delete them. But yeah, you should make the log path either configurable, or someplace less intrusive.
There is nothing in the JSON settings file, or any other file in /Applications/DDM, that either points to my home directory or where log files should be deposited. I searched for "~", "home", "user", "log", etc.. It must be baked into the executable?

I don't have this issue, but I'm not on 1.50.0.0043 yet as I cannot get it installed .
Do you perhaps find any references to 'log' or your home directory in the file /Applications/DDM/DDM_settings.json?
PS: could you share the readme.txt you can find in /Applications/DDM? I'm curious to see what has been changed in this version.
