Dead pixel or stuck pixel?

Question

On my monitor, there is a small (about the size of a pen head), white dot on my screen. I can only see this dot against a white, or light-blue background. Anything darker and the spot is invisible.

Does this sound like a dead or stuck pixel?

I've tried several programs and websites that use Javascript gadgets or flashing videos to fix stuck pixels, but none of them has worked.

I have 1 black pixel on my monitor......is down the bottom left so not a real worry......any cure.....monitor is 4 months old. (the Dell one)   Col

Since it is white, I reckon it is a stuck pixel. Dead pixels are black.
