Dead pixel or stuck pixel?

On my monitor, there is a small (about the size of a pen head), white dot on my screen. I can only see this dot against a white, or light-blue background. Anything darker and the spot is invisible.

Does this sound like a dead or stuck pixel?

I've tried several programs and websites that use Javascript gadgets or flashing videos to fix stuck pixels, but none of them has worked.

Since it is white, I reckon it is a stuck pixel. Dead pixels are black.

Nice article regarding this isue. Describes difference between dead and stuck pixels.

I tried both free programs to test the monitor, and found them superb.
