Dell 2001fp Broke Help

Question

SO my Dell2001fp that came with my XPS gaming system is broken. after about 30 seconds of the monitor being on the entire left side of the screen artifacts and the colours distort to such a degree that is become unreadable. I am looking for a replacement for my monitor as this is both my personal and bussiness monitor. How do I go about getting that process started or can I trouble shoot the monitor at all?
