Dell 2007fpb backlight malfunction

look for a solution to repair my 15 months old Dell 2007FPB ( FPW compatible ? ) .

Who have a manual how to disassamble the LCD ?

When I switch it on I've a PC picture for about 2 seconds.

Without any source connected , I get the "no VGA cable connected" message for about 2 seconds.

Than it get's black

When I put a flashlight over the LCD I can see the picture.

It looks like that the HV-Generator for the backlight is somehow dead.

Any other glue ?

I am having the exact same problem with a monitor I just bought secondhand. It's a 1505FP. Screen shows for 1-2 seconds, then immediately goes dark, but is still displaying an image if you look extremely close. From what I can gather so far from other forums, it seems to be a backlight issue, or the inverter that powers it. For some reason the inverter is doing it's job for a couple seconds, then shutting itself off.

It's quite frustrating! Any help or input would be appreciated!

looks like a problem across the families.

I guess I can repair it, but I need a advice how to open the chassis, there a no screws visible ...

When I can open the LCD , I can troubleshoot the root cause.

I also guess it's the inverter ( ~ 100 volt ) for the backlight.

probably a capacitor issue on the inverter, but I need to open the LCD first :-)

Hey, Great ! couldn't find my model, but the 18" have a similar mounting.

I could open the LCD , many thanks !

On the end .... on Top and on bottom there a 3 lamps, on top , only two were on, on Bot, two out of three were mechanical broken.

I guess this is monitored by the inverter, so the inverter switch off after 2 seconds due a too low load.

Will see where I can buy two new lamps .
