Dell 2209WA Issues
I was given a Dell 2209WA monitor a few days ago. And I am having a few issues. For one, If i plug in a vga cable through my computers DVI port (using a DVI - VGA) adapter, the monitor works fine. If i try straight DVI, i get no VGA cable fround. I installed the drivers for the monitor, and it shows in my Windows 7 x6 install Dell 2209WA - Analog. I would rather use the digital setup.
Also, in agalog, all the controls are locked, I cant change anything. Is there a way to unlock those controlls in analog mode? I also have not been able to find the service tag anywhere on the monitor.

Hi Terdog,
Please check the image shown below to locate the Monitor's Bar-code serial number label and Regulatory label. This monitor does not have a service tag. Service tag is usually available for monitors which are 24 inches and above in size. For further clarification, please refer to the Monitors FAQ page: http://dell.to/W7nRu0
Also, it seems that the OSD Menu on the monitor is locked due to which you are not able to change any monitor display settings. Menu Lock allows you to control user access to adjustments. When you select Lock, no user adjustments are allowed.
Please follow these steps to unlock the OSD Menu:
Press and hold the Menu button for 10 to 15 seconds to unlock it. If this does not work, please try the steps mentioned below:
Once you have followed the aforementioned steps, it is likely to work as desired. You can also check the manual for the monitor which has its complete setup and usage guide following which you can make changes and setup the display either using VGA cable or DVI cable from this link: http://bit.ly/WdQpY0
Please revert for any clarification.
