Dell 2209WA replacement
Hello,
Few weeks ago I purchased Dell2209WA monitor. Almost immediately after turning it on I noticed one bright dot almost in the center of the screen. Red dot on white background to be exact.
I contacted official Dell representative in Lithuania but they refuse to replace it just the same as for this guy: http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/19292742/19546904.aspx
They sent me a link saying that is completely normal to have 5 dark dead sub-pixels on Dell monitors. I tried to refer to document DSN 339667 mentioned in few posts on these forums, but that doesn't help.
Please advise.
kind regards,
tadas

Article ID 339667 doesn't apply to a stand alone monitor. It only applies to Laptop/Portable LCDs.
Dark Pixel Defect - A pixel that is permanently Off using a full white background. Must have 6 or more to get a replacement.
Bright Pixel Defect - A pixel that is permanently On using a full black background. Must have 6 or more to get a replacement.
Premium Panel Bright Pixel Defect Guarantee -
The UltraSharp, Professional, or Alienware OptX monitors with 1 or more Bright Pixel Defects are entitled to a replacement. (Not all countries have the Premium Panel Bright Pixel Defect Guarantee). Lithuania does not.
What models do not carry the Premium Panel Bright Pixel Defect Guarantee?
If your monitor has the letter E, G, IN, S, SP, ST, SX preceding the number.

One time you are saying that this document applies to the same (2209WA) monitor ( http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19273741.aspx ) I quote: "Tell the technician to look up DSN Document ID: 339667." And now you are stating that it isn't. That's kinda confusing don't you think?
And what's with the Lithuania not having Premium Panel Bright Pixel Defect Guarantee? It's part of European Union just like UK is you know.

* Yes. Well policy and instructions change. This is the latest.

* No idea. I am in the USA. You would have to contact Dell Lithuania and ask about their policies.

Same issue here Chris. Just received a 2209WA with a stuck red pixel near the centre of the screen. Did the usual light rub to see if I could unstick it (usually works for me).
Who should I be contacting in Canada about this? I'm guessing if I get a replacement, and then go over the time limit (23 days??) I'm left with playing the monitor replacement game. Other than the dead pixel it appears fine.

If you only have a monitor order number, you should contact Canada Order Support. If your monitor was purchased tied to a Dell PC, contact Canada Technical Support.
They will need the following data -
Name:
Email Address:
Shipping address:
Phone number:
Monitor Order number or PC Service Tag number if purchased with a PC:
Monitor 20 digit PPID number found on the back on a label or on the slider card on the left rear:
Reason: Stuck Bright Pixel. Per the Premium Panel Bright Pixel Defect Guarantee for UltraSharp, Professional, or Alienware OptX monitors, this warrants an exchange
