Dell 2405 showing "No Input Signal" when device is connected to component input
Just got my Dell 2405 about a month and a week ago. Been working excellent so far; no dead pixels and no squeal **knocks on wood**. Just a few days ago I bought a component cable for my Sony Playstation 2 with the intent of hooking it up to my new monitor. Everything is plugged in and ready to go, yet when I turn the PS2 on and switch to the component input (5) I get the message "No Input Signal" and the screen is black. What's wrong? Am I missing something?

Try this....
Enable 480p, or progressive in your PS2 video output settings. I needed to change this setting way back in the day when I first connected it to my HDTV.
Sorry for lack of detail but it's been a long time since I've had a PS2. However, I sometimes connect my XBOX via component to my 2405, no problems. Just be warned, this monitor does a horrible job with anything less than a HD (720p or 1080i) video signal.
Good luck.

No problem man, hope that worked....
As to the HDTV capabilities of this monitor, it's fair at best. This is simply the best PC monitor ever made factoring in the price, input options, and real estate. But when you connect your PS2 you will be very disappointed, trust me. When I run HDTV-Cable through it via monster component cable at 720p or 1080i, it's much better but the monitor still suffers from what I can best describe as a constant motion blur and poor resolution. I don't know the tech reason for this but it must be traced back to screen refresh rates in some way shape or form.
I expect the XBOX360 to prove as a much better experiment, especially in VGA mode.
Enjoy this beast as the best PC monitor of it's time with a great picture-in-picture mode (crystal clear), that's all it's good for.
