yes it's not working at all on component. I get no signal. I also get no signal if I switch the xbox to 60hz through composite, but it works @ 50hz.
Problem is, some games (the only two I have:) only work at 60hz and I know users of this monitor are connecting it to xbox so they must be getting it.
I invariably want to get an xbox vga cable but when it didn't work through component, or composite @ 60hz, I wasn't sure if a vga cable would have the same hz issue.
I just tried connecting my video card to the component connection on my monitor and I get no signal either so it's possible the component part of my monitor is broken. I bought it a year ago and have never actually tested it before.
My video card has a component out adapter to which I've connected a standard RCA AV cable (red, white and yellow to green, red and blue because I don't have an actual component cable). Would that cause a problem? I figure they're all just RCA cables.
I'll test plug that into my dvd player to see if I get a signal and if so, it'll mean the component is broken. Hope I paid for the extended warranty. :)
In any case, 60hz doesn't seem to work and that is of more concern because I assume a vga cable wouldn't work then either.
While RCA AV cables may look similar to Component video cables they should be technically different. I just found this explanation: Audio Cables for Video.

Thanks for the link gpro.
It implies I should get some signal and I get none at all. I'm fairly positive now that the component connection on my monitor probably never worked.
I'm pretty sure I got an extended warranty so will send it back.
Regards,
Julian.
