Dell 2407WFP - S-PVS/S-IPS

 Hi!

Earlier Dell have confirmed that they have used both S-PVA and S-IPS panels in the production of Dell 2407WFP Rev A04. So I want to know if both panels also are used in production of Dell 2407WFP Rev A03?

Have Dell used MVA panels in production of 2407WFP Rev A01 to Rev A04?

Have Dell only used two different types of panels in 2470WFP Rev A04?

Where did you get that from?

DELL-ChrisM confirmed in an earlier discussion. See the answers he gave in the second last time he answered in this discussion....

I guess Dell never ever will confirm excactly how to identify wether or not a monitor use S-IPS or other types of panels, as long as they mix panels with in series and within models. Because they could be experiencing trouble selling the editions with other panels than S-IPS, or vice versa.

But I do think Dell should confirm how many and which panel types they use in each edition and revision.

Thanks for the links.

I have to say I had doubts about that information after reading this thread (see post #18).

Dell monitor panel types are discussed ad nauseum on dozens of forums, which would be great if most of the comments were more than rumours and fallacies. Actually, this is the place it is discussed least :).

There seems to be no hard evidence of a S-IPS 2407. FWIW, this CNET review says the HC version uses a Samsung LTM240CS01 S-PVA panel.

its easy to find the panel, between TN, PVA, S-PVA & S-IPS

TN, look around to find a angle were the image is inverted.

PVA/S-PVA, look with an lens to see pixel patterns:

S-IPS should be something like this:

*MVA sould look like PVA or S-PVA i guess...

All,

The Dell policy now is that we do not discuss panels. Right or wrong, our stance is that a 2407WFP is a 2407WFP since they all meet our minimum specifications.

The 2407WFP always has an S-PVA panel. Period.

Uh, wow. Didn´t know that AS-IPS and IPS-Pro got transparent electrodes. Pretty amazing. I will *love* to see an upgraded S-IPS 20"/24" panel from Dell. I'm sure that many people bought the 2007WFP model just because the S-IPS stuff.
