DELL E151FP COLOR DISPLAY
HI--I have a Dell E151FP monitor that's 3 years old, out of warranty of course. Lately, when I turn it on, it takes a good 10 minutes or so to actually come on. The power on light stays amber then will occasionally blink quickly to green, but stays amber, and the screen is totally black but I can see faint traces of the desktop through the black. I've tried unplugging and reconnecting, factory settings, everything but no luck. If I set the screen saver to stay on without the computer "going to sleep" then it's fine. I do not use the hibernation mode. If I set the screensaver so that the monitor goes off after awhile, say after 45 minutes, then move the mouse, same thing happens as when I first turn it on. While it's on there are no problems, everything looks great as it always has, but turning off for the night then on in the morning, it's looooooooooooong wait. What can I do to fix this? I find it hard to believe the monitor is bad already. Thanks for any help, Tina

Is the monitor power cord plugged directly into the wall socket?
