Do the colors stay at the bottom all the time? When do they appear?

Yes the colours are always at the bottom of the screen and will not go away. Do you know if there's anything I can do?

Do the colors show up in safe mode? If not, try removing and reinstalling your video card drivers.

For some reason i can't get it into safe mode and reinstalling the device driver has done nothing

i managed to run the system in safe mode finally - doesnt work

Are they areas of color? Maybe you have speakers or magnets too near the screen. The degauss feature may help. Control instructions are here: http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/monitors/819et/en/controls/controls.htm

Or just turn it off with the power button, wait 10 min, turn on, you will hear a hum for a second, then offf, repeat, should clear the color. If it doesn't, unit is faulty.
