Dell lcd DVI problem / "Power Save Mode" problem
First...
it would be helpful if the previous threads on this issue were still open:
and
http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_monitor&message.id=27226 had 561 messages, but unfortunately it appears the entire thread was completely deleted :(
Okay, Now, let's focus on Solutions... what fixed your system to get DVI to work?
Fixes so far (as of 5-11-05):
1 dell replaced video card and monitor
1 reinstalled vid card (non-standard) & used dell-supplied DVI-D Single-Link cables
Thank You (let's be sparing with complaints here... just create a thread helpful for finding fixes )

please list if you had this problem fixed:
new rev. vid card?
new motherboard?
new lcd (new or refurbished)?
new DVI cords?
dvi fix .exe files?
or another solution? (describe it briefly)
brief description of the problem... (computer, vid card, lcd, DVI cable)
brief description of the solution...
if we can do this cleanly, then I'll keep a tally of the fixes that have worked! Hopefully identify what works!

- I just got 2 of my 1905's to work in DVI.
- I downloaded the latest driver for my vid card (nVidia Quadro4 NVS400) from the manufacturer's site
-I used the DVI cords that came with the 1905 monitors (the DVI cords with the 1905's... and it worked.
-main point of interest.... the DVI cords that came with the 1905's have 2 columns, 6 pins, missing (on purpose). Another set of DVI cords I tried, have those 6 pins, but doesn't work with the dell 1905.
I'm leaving this thread for someone else to manage if you wish.... just sharing whatever helpful i can now, and now i'm off to continue my philanthropy work :D Best of efforts to everyone else of us here...

...spoke too soon. Now I can't get DVI -or- analog, not even my crt monitors work, if that's possible.
-Any Dell Moderators- please help... is there any updated troubleshooting I can try. I am aware that you're not the people mis-building these things, and not mis-writing the code either, and not mis-managing how the board of directors handle this issue....so I thank you for whatever support help you can share!

thanks for sharing
I just fixed mine also.
I reinstalled the video card, and used the stock-dell DVI-D single-link cords... and it works now.
