* The (SP2008WFP, SP2009W, SP2208WFP, SX2210, SP2309W) monitor USB cable must be connected to a USB port on the rear of the PC
* Open the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and remove the Dell Webcam Application
* Restart the PC when done
* Open the Device Manager and verify that the Dell monitor is shown under Monitors. If not, reinstall the driver
* Install the ManyCam software, but, during the installation, remove the checks for the Free Ask Toolbar and Weatherbug
* Once installed, open the ManyCam application, click the Sources tab, click Cameras. Is the monitor listed?

I uninstalled dell webcam application as you said, and restarted my computer, then installed manycam, shows my camera on manycam, but the webcam only works at 352 by 288 pixels. I did also make sure the monitor is plugged in, and I also tried changing the cable to a different cable, but it still didn't work. Since the camera only works on a lower pixel, when I log onto facebook or use any video chat programs, I can't reduce my resolution of my video, there for the web cam just doesn't produce an image.

Chris

I have a Dell SP2008WFPt monitor connected to an Inspiron 530S, and have never used the webcam until I tried to install Skype tonight.  Skype says the microphone appears to be working o.k., but it's not replaying my recording on the playback.  I re-installed the webcam cd which came with the monitor, and it reaches a point that asks for the webcam USB cable to be connected to the computer.  I used a generic usb cable and attached it to one of the rear USB ports, but the install keeps telling me to connect the webcam USB cable to the computer (even though it is connected).  Any suggestions on how to fix this?  Thanks  Don.
