Dell U2410 problems - rev A05

Question

Hi,   I have been using my new monitor now for a couple of days and have a few problems.   Firstly the worse point.  I have a vertical gradient that starts white at the top and finishes with a dirty white/yellow at the bottom.  As I'm using this for graphics work, this is kind of unusable.  I also seem to have a much brighter lower right corner of the screen.  I have taken pictures to illustrate these points.  I have a pure black, grey and white image, along with a web page and a cropped version of the webpage which really shows up the gradient problem.   Also, I also found all the presets to be odd (??) out of the box.. Standard is extremely saturated and has a red tint. aRGB and sRGB have quite a yellow tint - I would have thought aRBG would be more likely to exhibit more green/yellow due to the wide gamut but not sRBG? Custom seems cool and towards the blues. Do these presets sound normal? This 'Tinting'  Green left Pink right issue is due to the LG IPS  LM240WU4 family of panels. NEC LCD2490WUXi-BK ....... LG.Philips H-IPS A-TW Pol (LM240WU2)Hazro HZ24W ................... LG.Philips H-IPS (LM240WU2)Philips 240PW9EB .............. LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU4)Apple Alu 24' .................... LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU2-(SL)(B1))HP LP2475W ..................... LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU5) It is a hardware issue and Nothing can be done with firmware update. The warrenty do NOT cover this 'issue' like in 2009 when the monitor was new. It stinks I know, I got an A05 with the same issue. Although it seems to gradually lessen over time. Cheers

Reviving the thread. Does this '4'-family-of-panels thing mean that all U2410 are like that?! Which panel will U2412 have?
