Dell u3011 audio question
Hi i recently purchased a dell u3011 and I am trying to use my speakers with it. I believe they are 3.5mm(?) but they do fit into the green audio slot on the back of the monitor. The problem is that when i try to use that audio either through ps3(hdmi) or my mac(display port), the sound is way too loud when my speakers are on the lowest setting. Is there a way to fix this, either by adapter or something else?

The monitor OSD (On Screen Display) Audio only has options for 2.1 and 5.0. So all volume going into the monitor must be controlled from the source.

Yes but my speakers are on the lowest possible volume but they are way too loud. Ive tried with 2-3 different speakers and all of them do the same.

I'm having the same problem.
I've connected the U3011 monitor with my Xbox 360 and using the audio out on the back of the monitor to my Logitech speakers. The volume is too loud and distorted. My previous monitor (which had an audio out port) had no issues and the sound was good. Clearly there's something wrong with the monitor and not the source. Unless there's a monitor setting that I have missed....
