Dell Ultra Sharp Genesis Display Perfection
I have an older monitor that I cannot seem to connect to from my laptop. I need to screens to work with and my computer recognizes the monitor and says it is on and shows me the display numbers and everything. I can even drag things over to it. The problem is I can't see anything on the Dell Monitor except a floating box that says: DELL 2:DVI-D Self test feature check and then it has a Red layer, Green layer, Blue layer and White layer. If I click any of the buttons on the Monitor a padlock image shows on the screen for a few seconds and then goes away leaving the floating box. If I click the + or - button nothing happens. Please help I have had this monitor for over a year and can't seem to get it to work.

To unlock the monitor controls and get rid of the Lock, press and hold the monitor Menu button for about 10-15 seconds. You can also try this.

This still did not work. I don't really know which is the Menu Button but I pressed and held each button 15 seconds and nothing different is happening. Please advise me of something else. I also tried to go to settings and change the screen resolution and still nothing. I am so frustrated as I have had this monitor over a year and can't use it. Thank you for your help.

I took a video of the Monitor and what it is doing. Here it is. I also don't know what model number as the tags are in Chinese but I will try to see them again.

Well I can't get the embedded code to post in my reply. And the Model number is all in Chinese can't even tell what the chinese letters are as they are so small so can't translate.
I have even taken it into the Computer shop and they had no idea.
This is so crazy. Please help if you can. I do know that the date on it is april 2004
