Dimension 4550 and LCD Question
Hi Folks,
I thought I might ask some folks who have a 4550 their experince with using LCD's
I have a 17inch LCD from Planar and there is some blurriness on the screen. I have not called Planar yet - but I will. There products are great and I really don't think it's a problem with the monitor or cable.
My guess is it's a setting on the monitor or my video card. My card is an Nvidia GeForce 5700.
I tried to adjust the setigns and no luck. This monitor is Analog only but that shouldn't matter. DO you think it's a BIOS setting ???
I wasn't sure since the 4550 is 2 1/2 years old - my current version is A05 .
If anybody has any thougths let me know. Maybe it something with the card settings ?? I have the latest drive for the card.

Hi,
I do have the monitor set to native resolution and the cables are tight. I am not sure about Clear Type - where is that located ??

Do you have the resolution set to 1280x1024 ? This is that monitors native resolution and anything else will give you a less than optimum experience. Do you have ClearType set to on ? Make sure the cables have a tight fit as well. Let us know if any of these suggestions work...Good luck

1. Right click with your mouse an empty space on the desktop
2. Click on Properties in the next box
3. Click on Appearance on top
4. Click on Effects over towards the lower right side
5. Now click on the down arrow on the second box that you see ( Should state " Standard " ) . Select Clear Type.
6. Now click on Apply on the bottom, than click on OK in the next window that pops up. You are now done.

You can try another video card driver to rule that out, than call tech support for the monitor and see what they suggest if anything. Also, is there a reset button on the monitor itself that you can push in to see if this corrects the problem...Good luck
