Display Issue with ST2410

Hello all,

I'm using an ST2410 as an external display for my laptop (Asus G51vx-x3a with a G260M gpu through the vga port) The OS is win 7 64.

I'm getting horizontal line fluttering that is especially noticeable in 3d games (Warcraft and Counterstrike) but also occurs while using Mozilla or just sitting at the desktop. It also showed up on the LCD diagnostic (most visible in gray screen mode).

So far I've updated the driver, checked to make sure the power cord/vga cables were secure, and attempted to adjust settings (restore factory defaults/auto adjust). The problem is only with the monitor, the laptop isn't giving the same display issue.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Can you test another monitor on the laptop?

Get it replaced. If you only have a monitor order number, you should contact USA Order Support. If your monitor was purchased tied to a Dell PC, contact USA Technical Support. They will need the following data -
Name:
Email Address:
Shipping address:
Phone number:
Monitor Order number or PC Service Tag number if purchased with a PC:
Monitor 20 digit PPID number found on the back on a label or on the slider card on the left rear:
Reason: ST2410 Fails Self- Diagnostics (H-Lines)

I pulled the old crt (vga) out of the closet. No blur banding on the CRT. I  tried an alternate power cord  and different outlet for the St2410 as I read that could be a potential cause as well.

Intending to pick up a shielded HDMI cable on Thursday. I figure I'll try it on a different port and see if that helps any. Although I'm not certain it will since the lines showed up in the monitor's self diagnostic test.

I suspected that I'd have to send it back, but I figured I'd exhaust all possible options before then.

Just got off the phone with customer support. After being shuffled around a bit (45 min or so) I ended up with the right person and it went really quickly. They're sending a replacement.

Thanks again. This forum is really helpful. You should have seen me trying to find a service tag that wasn't there, before coming here. Like a dog chasing his tail. O.o
