CharlesPickrell,

The notes do not specifically state UVC. This is what it says,

* High-speed USB 2.0-compliant Lite-On camera
* 2.0-megapixel camera module designed to provide VGA color video and 2.0-megapixel still images
* The camera is located at the top of the monitor and is fixed, which means the camera itself does not move. However, the software it uses provides limited panning abilities.
* The camera comes installed with the Dell Webcam Manager software suite. The Dell Webcam Manager is the launchpad for the camera applications. From here you can access each program with a single click.

The SP2008WFP supports UVC in windows os.
When use linux system, new version os with compliant UVC driver in linux should be no problem as well.

Yes. I have tested this with Ubuntu 7.10, which ships with a uvcvideo kernel module. Make sure that the module is loaded (sudo modprobe uvcvideo) and your video applications are using V4L2 (Video 4 Linux 2).
