Dual Display problems with Latitude D620

I am trying to connect an Acer AL2216W (22" widescreen) LCD to my Dell Latitude D620, using the extended desktop option. However I am not allowed to set the Acer's monitor resolution to higher than1024x768.

Please let me know if anyone knows why this happens. I want to run the monitor at 1680x1050.

The Laptop uses the Intel 945GM Express chipset, and the adapter chip type is the Intel GMA 950.

You may be limited by your graphic card/adapter.....

Try installing latest drivers.

Look in display settings, advanced, display modes dual or clone or span area or something similar after you get newest drivers. Also, most nVidia drivers for their video cards have a dual display mode for two monitors at two different resolutions. Maybe yours has some thing like that
