DVI power saving mode box keeps flickering every few seconds

When monitor goes into power saving mode, the DVI power saving mode box keeps coming on intermittently.  It's distracting in the room.  Can I turn the monitor off manually while leaving cpu in Power saving mode or other suggestions.  Thanks!

mcneel,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Yes, you can turn the monitors power off if the cpu is in power saving mode.

I'm having the exact same problem as above.  My monitor is a 1901FP.  Not only is it distracting, but it may be causing burn-in on my monitor (not sure if it uses the monitors phosphors for this or not).

Is there any way to stop the flickering without having to manually shut the power off (thus defeating the purpose of the monitor being Energy Star compliant)?

Thanks.
