E171FP Factory Defaults Corrupted

Question

I have a Dell E171FP monitor and the factory defaults are corrupted. Whenever I switch the monitor to the factory defaults setting, the screen turns blue. In surfing the forum I found a suggestion to try softMCCS on other monitors. I downloaded the file but when I ran the program, it would not let me select the green arrow for restoring factory defaults. Is there another way to restore the factory defaults in my monitor?

* Power the monitor off
* Hold down the exit and menu buttons
* While holding those two down, press the power button
* Release all buttons
* Press menu button
* Move to Factory Reset and press menu
* Move to Factory Option and press menu
* Move to Burn-in, press menu and turn off, then press menu
* Exit out to main display
