E172FPb questions
I just got a E172FPb lcd monitor and I noticed the supported rates are 1280x1024 @ 60 Hz, 1280x1024 @ 75 Hz for the native resolution. Although, when i installed the latest nvidia driver for my gefoce fX5200 the highest rate is 72Hz at that resolution. when I have the ones dell provides, its max is 75Hz (in the settings pannel in advanced display properties), now the monitors on screen menu display says for that res 1280x1024 the optimum rate is 60Hz... is there any problem or any image distortion caused by running at 75Hz? and since dell's site says that the two rates for that screen size are 60 and 75Hz, would running the screen at 72Hz (the max that the new nvidia driver lets me with out overrideing it) cause any problems? pretty much what I am trying to say is what settings should I have to get the clearest and nicest looking image.
Also, I noticed something odd... if you install the latest nvidia driver from nvidia's site, and go to the display properties advanced settings then go to the geforce tab in the advanced settings, all the sudden all the black text has this strange ghost around it about 2 pixels shifted to the right of the text. It is normal (well at 72Hz there is a slight white ghost of the text) but when you click on that tab it gets really noticable although still its not like its an exact copy of the image in pure white its just like a copy of it ghosted over it.. like the image is drawing in two locations at once and one is showing up normal and the other is really transparent overlay shifted 2 pixels to the right... only dark colors display this property.. I think maybe its because of the 72Hz setting on a 60/75Hz display...
if you guys have any setup tips, please let me know thanks!
Right now I am running at 1280x1024 at 60Hz with the pixel clock at 50 and the phase set to 19 in the image settings.. and things seem to be alright image wise.
one last question, is there any noticable diffrence between 60Hz and 75Hz on LCD? on CRT you can see flickering at 60Hz compared to 75 and higher hertz thanks!
