E173FP 17" flat panel problems with KVM switch

I'm trying to use an E173FPf monitor with a KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) switch to share it between 2 systems. System 1 is a stock Dell Dimension 3000 running XP; system 2 is a generic PC with a PowerVR KYRO 32 MB video card running Win2K.

KYRO is set @ 72 HZ non-interlaced 128x1024 (but changing refresh or resolution has no effect on problem). Dell is set @ 1024x768 (but changing to VGA or superVGA has no effect on problem).

Monitor will not sync to Dell video signal when the generic PC's video signal (from KYRO) is on. Same problem with 2 different KVM switches. Currently trying an IO GCS612A 2-port KVM switch; also tried with a Belkin (returned...model unknown). With Belkin, Dell video was shaky. With IOGear, does not sync at all (display is black). Keyboard and mouse are switched properly, but video is blank. If I switch KVM back to KYRO's video, displays video with no problem.

I replaced the E173FP flat panel with a 15" CRT monitor, problem is cleared up. Switches between systems OK, displays either video. Same with a 17" CRT.

Problem seems to be specific to E173FP monitor.

I tried changing the refresh rate, resolution, etc. on KYRO video card. Also tried changing the pixel clock and the phase in the E173FP's menu. No change...cannot get it to display video when the Kyro is sending out video.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Simplest solution would be: make/model of a KVM switch that will work with this monitor, the Dell and the KYRO video card.

Thanks.
