Entech API cannot be installed and causes red screen
I connected my new U2412M monitor to my computer and everything works fine. Then I tried to install Entech API and Powernap, but it didn't install correctly.
When I installed the Entech API it seemed to hang some minutes and then suddenly the installation window disappeared without any messages (in the manual there is written, that you have to choose your operating system and so on, but I never got this selection). Powernap could be installed correctly, but I don't know if it works without Entech API.
A bit later I made a shutdown and restart on the PC. First everything seemed to be fine and the computer started up as usual. But suddenly the picture turned into a complete red screen (only simple, plain red. nothing else). I could only press the power button. Every time I restarted the PC it showed the same behaviour.
Then I restarted the PC in SAFE MODE and deinstalled the Entech API (SM_Client) and the red screen didn't appear again.
I tried to install the Entech API a second time, but it didn't help. As soon as Entech API is installed I only get a red screen :(
What can I do? The monitor is now also not shown in the device manager. It only shows PNP-Monitor.
I use Windows 7 x64 and a geforce gtx 670 (from ASUS).

Powernap is bloatware. Why install it at all? Just use the windows power management features.
* Remove the Powernap software
* Restart the computer when done
* Load the monitor Windows 7 driver http://dell.to/JL67hW
* Restart the computer when done
Then, try loading the Entech API software. Understand, we have not validated any of the Entech software on our hardware.

Thank you for your answer. I downloaded the driver from the link you gave me, but I don't know how to install it. When I start the exe just 2 files are unzipped to a directory, that's it. The files are 'DriverLanguageMap.xml' and 'u2412m.cat'.
There exists no *.INF file. And if the installation should continue automatically, it doesn't. Please help again.

Hi
why is the offical driver from Dell webpage for this screen faulty?
I have spent over 1 hr with this problem since the downloadable "driver" is only a .cat and does not contain an . inf file.
