Flat Panel Lifetime?

Hi,

Does anybody know the expected life time of a Dell flat panel display?

My 19 inch monitor (1907FPC) came with my desktop system in Jan 2007 and has been working fine up to a few months ago.  Now, most of the time, the image is blured to the right.  But sometimes the image just corrects itself and it is clear.  This intermittent problem is gradually getting worse.

Thanks

Hi All,

I tried the monitor self test check described in the monitor FAQ.  The floating dialog box looks fine except for one thing.  The black lettering of Test 1: Analog input ... seems to have a slight flicker that coincides with each step of movement.

Can someone tell me if this is normal or indicates a cause of my intermittent image blurring?

Thanks for any help,

Clyde

Hard to say. Is the monitor under warranty?

Hi,

At the Dell website, and based on my service tag number, I get a message that I am out of warranty.  Is there a way to check the warranty for just the monitor?

Thanks.

* A monitor purchased with a computer before 12/12/2005 has a 3 year warranty based off of the 20 digit PPID number or uses the longer computer warranty (4/5 year).
* A monitor purchased with a computer on/after 12/12/2005 uses the length of the computer warranty (90 days, 1 year, 2 year, etc) regardless of the PPID number.
* A monitor purchased by itself has a minimum 3 year warranty based off of the 20 digit PPID number.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the monitor warranty information.  Sorry I did not see it on your FAQ.  It is funny but now that I have been asking about my monitor "bluring" problem, I have not had it for about a week.  It is as clear as on day 1.  I do have a question.  What is rendering.

Thanks

Hmm, do you mean rendering for graphics?

Thanks for the link.  I was actually wondering if my type of monitor blurring had a name and if it's been associated with monitor issues.
