FP2001 Viewing bootup in DVI?

Is it possible to view bootup when you have the FP2001 monitor connected via DVI?  I've had this monitor for several months and only recently had to change something in bios.  It required me to connect the monitor via analog in order to see the bootup and make my changes.  When connected via DVI, I get a blank screen until winXP comes up.   I'm not using a Dell Nvidia card.  I purchased a retail Nvidia 5900 Ultra card.

Is there anything I can do to view bootup with the DVI connection or is that not possible?

I can tell you that YES it is possible. On my 2001FP I see the BIOS output as well as CMOS and the loading of DOS drivers. However, I have a ATI RADEON 9700 Pro connected via DVI. I can't speak for Nvidia. For your sake as well as all Nvidia card owners I would hope that switching out of DVI to see the BIOS is unnecessary. Good Luck!

You're welcome, but trust me ATI is not without its problems either. It just so happens that the combo I built of ATI, 2001FP, and ASUS P4PE/L mobo all works together. One of the drivers ATI released after I built this system crashed my favorite racing sim. I was livid for a few days, but thankfully ATI fixed that problem pretty quick. Maybe Nvidia will do the same for you! Back when the new driver crashed my favorite racing sim I immediately emailed ATI with my system specs and what I was seeing. Several emails went back and fourth between ATI and myself. It wasn't long after that they released a new beta driver that fixed the crashing. If you haven't already you should email Nvidia to let them know of your situation.

Thanks, Joe, it's good to know--from a troubleshooting aspect--that it's an Nvidia problem.  Hopefully, with newer drivers it will be addressed.  I'll check with Nvidia and keep upgrading to new drivers.  Appreciate your letting me know.

Joe, can I ask if you're using the DVI cable that came originally with your Dell monitor or did you buy another?  Just wanted to make sure there's no other difference other than our video cards.

I'm using the bone stock setup. Dell factory DVI cable as well as USB cable.
