Maybe your resolution is set too high (tiny text) for the monitor, check documentation for correct setting. I find 1024 by 768 at 85hz is the limit for my Sony, the print is readable and tiny on this page! Also, if contrast is glaring bright, can cause focus to get worse, try reducing it. There is a setting in Display properties, Effects tab "smooth edges of screen fonts" be sure it is UNchecked. If none of that helps, could be faulty monitor..(the P991 Trinitron may be better, costs more!!)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!  I reformated my Dimension 8250 and Inspiron 8200 to solve other problems and it solved them....then my displays were showing tiny little characters that I could hardly read with my reading glasses on.  I was trying everything and when I read your message VOILA!!!  I can see again!!  Thank you so much.  Virginia
