HDMI socket? Nope.

Question

I have a U2212 monitor that works fine, but at one point I needed to rig it with an HDMI cable instead of DVI, and it was a non-starter. Where I expected to find an HDMI socket on the back of the monitor I found something that looked sort of like one, but would-andwill-never work. What is it? No HDMI jack will fit it.

The port you are referring to is a DisplayPort. See the U2212HM User's Guide, pages 9-10.

Thanks for the answer. I'm on a Mac, and I've never seen that kind of display connector.
