HELP! FPW2405 Video aspect ratio WRONG!

When I use ANY of the video inputs, from ANY source, the picture is too wide.  Instead of standard TV displaying at 1.33:1 (4:3), it is 1.5:1.  16:9 video is stretched in the same ratio.  But inut from D-sub and DVI are fine.  Why is the video stretched?  And can it be fixed?  I heard it had something to do with pixel shape.

My 2405 came in wide screen stretch mode also.  In your OSD you will find three adjustments for

aspect ratios.

I've read the manual, I know about the three options, that's NOT the problem.  The problem is, any video 4:3 input, which should have a width to height ratio of 1.333333 to 1, displays at 1.5 to 1.  ANY input, DVD, HD, S-Video, Composite, Component.  And the Dell Customer Dis-Service was TOTALLY useless, they just referred me to the manual.  I knew more than they did, they didn't seem to have ANY people with actual technical knowledge.  I've heard the problem has something to do with pixel shape.

I think you are right. I mean 2405FPW's aspect ratio for video inputs is incorrect. 4:3 video is supposed to be 1600x1200 on the monitor, but it is wider than that. That's really strange.

I also noticed this (on two different monitors).

Composite and Svideo are shortened by about 10 percent.

HD on component input is correct.

Any one know the reason or solution?
