Help req. PCI graphics card for 2007FPW
Hi guys,
A friend of mine has a small form factor PC with onboard graphics. He is looking at buying the 2007FPW, I took my 2005FPW to his to see if it supported the 1680x1050 resolution. It didn't, the max seemed to be 1200ish.
He loves the monitor though, which leaves us trying to find a PCI graphics card that definately supports 1680x1050 resolution and is pretty small as cheaply as possible!
It is very hard to find out if a card supports a widescreen resolution. I have found a GeForce 4 MX400 64mb that supports a much higher resolution than the 2007FPW, but does this mean it will do the widescreen ones? If it doesn't will powerstrip manage to resize?
Note it does NOT have to play games, just desktop use and video playback.
Thank you for your time, I really hope I can find something appropriate!

Not sure where you are located but if you are in the US, go to Newegg as they have a bunch of PCI slot cards.
It seems I was wrong and that there are quite a few out there. Just didn't think there was a market for it since most have moved to AGP quite a few year's ago and PCIE has been main stream for over a year now. Still there are some relatively new chips out there that should be good for the monitor. here is the link to newegg and their stock of PCI cards:

Alternative is to think about a new MB. There are some really cheap ones out there with an PCIE or AGP slots out there that will give you more option on the video card.
